Ordu is a city in the Black Sea Region of Turkey.

It was founded as a Greek port city in the eighth century BC, and remained it until the 1800s, even under Ottoman rule until the Sultan began settling nomadic tribes here. Later, refugees from the Russo-Turkish moved here as well. During the 1924 population exchange, most ethnic Greeks were deported from the city.
The main road through town is Atatürk Caddesi, which cuts inland from the coast, but visitors prefer strolling on the shoreline.
Buses go to Ordu from the major cities. There are frequent buses to Giresun and Persembe, each an hour away with a fare of 5 lira, and Ünye, a 100 minute trip for 8 lira.
Dolmuses make the rounds taking passengers through town.
Almost everything in the city can be reached easily on foot.
Pasaoglu Konagi ve Etnografya Müzesi on Tasocak is a well recreated Ottoman house with ethnographic exhibits.
Visit the Sagra factory shop to try all kinds of chocolate covered hazelnuts.
Listen to the traditional Black Sea music, including the Kemençe, a string instrument.
The city is famous for its burnt ice cream, cabbage soup, sardines, and corn bread, among other vegetable dishes.
For a fish and raki experience, try Gulyali Limanici on the Ordu-Giresun highway.
Grand Midi Restaurant, near the tourist office on the sea, has good food and a great view.
Inland, Bulvar Cafe on Atatürk Caddesi has simple, cheap dishes.

Very basic, but clean rooms are offered behind the tourist office at Otel Kervansaray
Belde Otel on Kirazlimani Mevki is known for its sea and forest views with modern rooms.
One of the largest industries is the processing of hazelnuts, in addition to the shipping trade.
