Location of Kemer within Turkey.

The floods from the mountains formed a lake with marsh. Local people made 23km long stone wall at the foot of the mountain to protect themselves from floods. Because of this wall, the village began to be called "Kemer" (belt).

Till the 1960s access to the Kemer was only possible by sea. Developed and grew after the 1980s and became popular tourist destination. Completed all the infrastructure activities. World-renowned tourist resort opened.Sea, forest and mountain views next to the historical buildings adds a touch of color to the Kemer.

Kemer is located at the southwest of Mediterranean Region. Kemer has the coordinates as 36 degree 36 minute northern latitude, 30 degree 34 minute eastern longitude. Kemer is 584 km away from Ankara and 764 km away from Istanbul.

Antalya airport facilities and Kemer is 60 km away from airport.

Parallel to the coastline along the highway that allows seeing the beautiful scenery. In both directions every ten minutes from Antalya bus garage is filled with the transportation facilities. 1 hour away from Antalya International Airport. Moreover, it is possible to arrive by sea at theKemer. Finding direct buses from major cities may be possible in the summer season. The easiest solution to Kemer is to ride the bus after coming to Antalya.

Phaselis (Tekirova): Mini Buses run continuously between the Kemer and Phaselis average journey takes 20 minutes. Geographical location shows that was an important port city.
