Düzce is a city in the Black Sea Region of Turkey.

Düzce’s history dates back to 3rd century BC. The city was controlled by the Bythinians until 74 BC and then conquered by the Pontus Empire. Its name was changed into Prusias ad Hypium when the Romans were in charge. Later it was controlled by the Byzantines and Seljuks and in 1323, Ottomans conquered the region. In 1999, Duzce had experienced unfortunate eathquakes which harmed so many lives.
Located on the west Black Sea coast, Düzce has borders with the cities Zonguldak on the northeast, Bolu on the east and south, Sakarya on the west.

The antic city of Konuralp (Prusias Ad Hypium) has a history dating back to 3rd century BC. There is a theatre (40 Stairs), a marble bridge, mosaics, ramparts, aqueducts, Tyche Statue, Antoninus Pius Bust, Tomb - Grave Reliefs and Statue pedestals.
Located in Fakıllı village, Fakıllı Cave is at Akçakoca county. This interesting cave with its natural properties, galleries, attractive stalactites and stalagmites is worth seeing.
Genoese Castle is located in Akçakoca and was used first by the Byzantines, later the Genoeses and the Ottomans.
Konuralp Mosque was constructed in the 14th century and is located in Konuralp district.
Konuralp Tomb, Karaköy Tombs, Cumayeri and Ahmet Dede Tombs are worth visiting.
Enjoy the lakes and waterfalls of Düzce. Located at the borders of Düzce and Gölyaka, Efteni Lake has 100 meters altitude and hosts to nearly 150 different species of water birds. Güzeldere Waterfall is located in Gölyaka county and has a 135 meter height. Samandere Waterfall is located in Samandrere Village of Düzce and registered as "Natural Monument" by the Ministry of Forest of Turkish State.
