working in Turkey for a woman

   Hi,

   I will travel to Turkiye mid November, am a journalist so am also wondering what kinds of work would be available (doesn't have to be in media). Any adivce on work in Istanbul would be greatly appreciated. I am also wondering if there are any other customs (particularly for women) that I should be aware of.

   If you are planning to stay long, you can work as a proofreader or english teacher.

   Turkey, especially Istanbul is more western than you can imagine. Altough you wont have any problems for being women, I would recommend you to be conservative at the beginning of your trip till you understand the Turkish Culture.

   Have to agree with the previousu replies. Another recommendation will be registering to a trusty agency. You might want to check with an organisation company. They mainly do international organisations, and toursit tours. They'll for sure need an English speaking person. info@petraorganizasyon.com is the e-mail address for one of them.
