Hi there,
You can carry any major currency (US Dollars, Euro, Lira) because there are lots of currency changer. Big supermarket also accept major currencies. But, for your options, that will be Euro since Lira has been replaced by this currency.
in which country u r present at this time ,
tell me then i will give u answer,
Yes you can carry any major currency which is acceptable worldwide easily. You can call at your home by using international calling scheme or you can use computers to make video chat.
This will be the first time I'm far away from home. I'm hoping to speak with loved ones over online web cam. From what I read, the bigger cities in Turkey, such as Istanbul, have internet widely available.
There is so much preparation for a trip such as this that it is easy to forget essential details. The thought of currency exchange never even crossed my mind! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
1. I will be in Turkey mid April for the first time. Last I read on the net the Lira is replaced with the New Turkish Lira, but someone quote best to carry along Euro. I am confused, please enlighten me.
2. In mid April for two weeks of travelling through ISTANBUL-BURSA-PAMUKKALE-KONIA-CAPPADOCIA-BOLU-ANKARA, what would be the temperature like? For South East Asian where there is no spring or winter, what type of clothing would br appropriate?

1- There are lots of exchange offices in Istanbul. So you don't need to change any money before you get to Istanbul. Or only change small amount enough to get to your hotel. Airport exchange rates are not good. The rates in the city are usually better. There are exchange offices in other cities too but they are not easily accessible like Istanbul.
BE CAREFUL
- Exchange rates are always displayed on the wall so you will know how much you will get for your money.
- One of the tourist traps (not common but be prepared) is charging high commission for the exchange. Usually exchange offices charge %0.1-%0.5 of the whole amount. So if you are exchanging $100, the commission will be around 5 cents. Some of the places play with the percentage numbers and charge %5. So instead of paying 5cents you will pay $5.
This is not common but I have seen it happening.
All touristic places will accept Euro but you will usually pay more. A classic example is; You would see signs for a bottle of water for 1 Lira, $1 or 1 Euro. So it is up to you how you want to pay but in reality you pay different amount in different currencies.
If you are travelling by yourself not in a group try to carry Lira instead of Euro. This way you can explore more non-touristic places without creating some touristic barrier.
2- Mid April is one of my favorite season. Be prepared for some rain. There wont be any snow but there will be some cold days. Nights will be cold too. Jacket, long pants and a warm sweater is necessary.
