traveling in marmaris

   I will be in Marmaris Turkey between 21st - 28th Jan. Due to changing circumstances I will be a solo female travelling. Can anyone suggest places to stay and things to do. I know its not peak season but unfortunately my ticket does not permit any date changes and is also non refundable.
   Will it be a wasted journey? Also am I right that Turkey has a public holiday or festival around the time I am there. Will anything be open or do they shut down?
   Any advice would be appreciated. :)
