I need food but no meat please

    getting desperate for vegetarian food that is neither utterly bland nor totally overpriced..

    not in Turkey.
    as long as you are not vegan, you will be so happy in Turkey.

    Turkish cuisine has lots in it. There are things without meet. Just go to one of those self-service restaurants and pick what ever you want. Those in general are called EV YEMEKLERI LOKANTASI. In direct translation: Homemade Food Restaurants.

    A wealth of fruit and vegetables, an enviable selection of rice on the Bosporus, and above all, refined dishes prepared with lamb.

    Basic ingredients - grains, meat, fish, pasta, vegetables, wheat flour dough

    Meat:
    Kebab is the collective name for many dishes of meat, and for Turkey is characterized as the pies. To the west is known shish kebab and doner kebab. The unique taste of all kinds of kebab comes from the quality of meat of sheep and calves reared in natural conditions.

    Kofte (meatballs) are prepared from minced meat and grated onion, formed into balls, dumplings or long pates which are then baked or cooked on the grill.

    Vegetables:
    Dolma is a collective term for stuffed vegetables. It is generally prepared two types of dolmas. Dolma stuffed with rice, prepared with olive oil and eaten cold, while dolma stuffed with meat main dish and eaten mostly with yoghurt.

    Meze are cold appetizer to an abundant meal, and generally enjoyed together with raki. Watermelon, creamy goat cheese, all kinds of vegetables, cooked in tomato sauce, crab, octopus, Turkish caviar, eggplant salad, a small patty.

    Seafood
    The most famous and favorite Turkish Black Sea anchovy fish hams. The taste of the fish in preparation enriched with seasonal vegetables and salads. Rocco - aromatic arugula and tere (a kind of lettuce) with drops of lemon juice are an addition to all kinds of fish.
