i am not in selcuk so i cant help you but maybe this trick might help you.
you will probably find your place by asking to real estate agencies. and they will charge you 10 or 12 percent of the whole year's rent as their comission. because of their comission is a percentage of the total amount of yearly rent they are trying to keep the rent high as much as they can(especially for the foreigners).
so- if you can, offer them more money as their comission but try to reduce the rent for the increase their commission. you will profit in the long run.
i hope you can understand my broken english.

Do you know anyone in Turkey? If so have them check for you. Anything online will be more than you think. If you know someone who is Turkish even better. Remember it is always easier to get a better price if you speak the same language.

good luck

I am planning to move to Selcuk Turkey at the end of 2006, and I am trying to find information about renting an apartment or house. This would be a longterm rental, at least a year, and I need all of the help that I can get.
Thanks!
