There are direct buses between Izmir and Cappadocia.
Bus companies - http://www.iwasinturkey.com/resources/Travel/Bus-Companies

Flight are also not that expensive too. If you book early you can get deals under 50 Euro.
Hi
I was in Turkey a year or so ago and the buses were fantastic. We organised ours through Walkabout Travel http://www.walkabout.com.tr they made it really easy and picked us up and took us to the bus station. I think it took around 9-10 hours with stops along the way

Hope this helps

Hi,

In Turkey you can move around where ever you want with buses. So until the very edge of turkey close to syria. But if you ask a direct bus service from Ist. to Damascus, I don't know! Some big bus companies serving almost all around turkey are Ulusoy, Varan and Kamil Koc, with their web sites and call centers, please check them.
