As I want to enjoy my stay in Turkey as much as possible, I'm contemplating going to Mt. Ararat.

I was wondering if any of you fine people ever climbed Mt. Ararat and what the experiences are.

What are good/bad touroperators/prices? The best I saw so far was a tour with Terra-Anatolia.

How should I prepare? I've done a lot of mountain hiking, but never above 3500 meters.
Thanks!

i ve been in both of them. mt ararat was nice but kackar was wonderfull.
you dont need to be experienced or anything for mt ararat. the only thing is altitude. eat good, drink good and sleep one night at 4200m, that's it. but kackar, it is different. it is not as high as ararat but it is more challenging than ararat. there are lots of nice peaks which is good for technical climb and also glaciers. nature and the weather is wonderfull. the best thing was filling your glass from the tiny river in front of your tent, and the glacier lakes.

How hard is it to climb Mt. ararat. I am in good shape but I am 45. I do yoga three times a week. Is there a special program I should train with before attempting a climg?

What is the altitude of the summit?

I really want to go but I do not want to injure myself trying.

If anyone can give me more info I would really appreciate it

Hi!i am currently researching two places in turkey to visit, but I was hoping someone may have any insightful info on these places or the area in general! I understand that Mt. Ararat might contain the remains of Noah's arc and Mt Kackar has wonderful scenery. Which one would you chose? Any info would help me out a lot.

thank
