These are some of the tips which can help you to make the world little bit more greener.
- Change to Fluorescent Bulbs – If every house in the United States changed all of the light bulbs in their house, that would be equivalent to taking one million cars off the streets.
- Hang Outside to Dry – Get a cloths line or rack to dry your cloths. Your cloths will last longer and you will save money
- Use Both Sides of Paper – if you have a printer with a double sided print option use it. You will save half of the amount of paper you would have normally used.
- Get rid of baths – Do not take baths, take showers. You will in average save about half the amount of water that you would if you were taking a bath.
- Do not get bottled water – Instead of bottled water get a reusable container to carry water. Also you can get a filter to make your home tap taste more like bottled water. It is definitely more cost efficient.
- Shorten your shower – Every minute you cut from your shower is roughly 5 gallons of water. The less time your shower takes, the lower your impact on the environment.
- Recycle Glass – If you do not recycle this, it will take a million years to decompose.
- Turn Down your Thermostat – Every degree lower in the winter or higher in the summer you put it is a 10 percent decrease on your energy bill.
- Turn off your lights – An easy one. Turn off your lights when you are not using them. The benefits are obvious.
- Do not get a paper phone book – Instead of getting a paper phone book. Use a online directory instead.
- Give things away – Take things that you are not going to wear or use and give it to a charity or someone who will use it.
- Go to a car wash – Going to a car wash is a lot more water efficient then washing your car at home.
- Buy Rechargeable Batteries – Even though it will take a good investment to buy these you will find yourself gaining it back in no time.
- Pay your Bills Online – If every house in the US did this then we would save 18 million trees every year.
- Get a reusable bag – You can not recycle plastic bags, instead get yourself a reusable bag so that you will not have to worry about carrying your necessities.
- Inflate your Tires – If your tires are inflated at all times your car will run more miles on less gas.
- Plant a Tree – It is good for the air, can keep you cool, and can increase your property value.
- Walk or Ride Your Bike When you can – If you have to go somewhere close consider riding your bike or walking there instead of your car. It is better on the environment and healthier.

Let’s put it this way: our family is very green in lifestyles. We recycle and reuse everything we have in the house. The plus, we save about $285/month more by reusing everything as much as we can without throwing out to the garbage. One day, we were thinking about installing solar panels but the panels are way out of our budget. In our research, we found out the is an easy solution of saving electric, just chance the hungry electric burning incandescent bulbs to LED light bulbs. Simple as that, we save another $45 every month.
Going green in the home is one thing but at work it is something much more! Encouraging others to go green in the work place will raise awareness and possibly carry through to their every day lives.
I agree going green with business transactions is a wonderful thing. I would like to see more and more businesses doing this. Would make a big impact on our environment
Great green living tips! Be environmental friendly is so good for all of us!
is there any possabilities to make borders rounded for ie 7, ie8 and opera 10?
cos {-moz-border-radius:5px; – doesn’t work in these browsers
For living Green at the work we must use certain technologies like telepresence. Telepresence saves the emissions in the atmosphere and also our money. The businesses that implement these technologies can slash carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 5.5 million metric tons in total which is equivalent to removing more than one million passenger vehicles from the road for one year.
Green Living
good plugins …have chinese version?
What a great post! Going green is important for everyone to take part in.
I made finnish translation but finnish letters ä and ö are not working.
I solved the problem with finnish letters, so forget what I said earlier.
I saw something about a chinese company that is making the basis for solor panels with paint. That means that in a few years time we all hopefully will be able to afford solorpanels and that imho would be a great step towards a better and greener live. What do you think?
Dear Onur, I send e-mail to you with a translate into Russian. Please, check you mailbox.
Thank you Onur for sharing these beautiful tips for green living and keep it up!

Hey guys, how about, instead of executing prisoners, getting them to sit on exercise bikes connected to dynamos and thence to the electricity grid. This will help save carbon emissions from power stations and keep them fit for the war on terror. 6 month furlough for every megawatt generated!!!
ITS A NICE WAY TO CREAT AWARENESS AMONG ALL.GREAT WORK
Very cool stuff. Totally loving the green tips
Please spread the word about our ski and snowboard app that promotes green alternatives and ride sharing to local mountains!

Great Plugin! I’m designing a site for some folks who are starting a green cleaning business. (I’m not great with HTML)
One question. Is there a line of code I can add (And where would I add it exactly) That would open your page up in a new page if someone clicks on the widget? I’m happy to have people come here and check you out, but I’d like it to pop up in a separate page so it doesn’t completely take people away from their site.
Thanks so much in advance! Please email me the answer.
Leah
i would love to have may car cleaned by those automated and computer wahsers `:`
Nice list. Why not try just buying locally ? The more local goods we buy, instead of sourcing our things from all over the planet, the more we save of transport miles. We buy our food from local producers (not just retailers) and it really makes sense for the environment. Plus it’s amazing how much money you can save when you only buy locally … basically because the temptation of the global market is not upon you
Good Luck
french translation is kind of hard at first but if you get used to it, then it is easy *~:
You are absolutely right Onur.
There are so many little things which all of us can do each and everyday to reduce the impact we have on our surroundings.
I think that much of the issue centers around educating people, so articles like this are great, since they plainly spell out to the reader how everybody can do there bit (however small) to make our planet a better place to live.
Wish best wishes, Jen
This is a great list. I’ve pinned up a large copy of it on our office wall and have instructed that all employees take note of it.

Green living tips is a great idea, if we really wanna save this planet we could just rape another planet and make it take all of the blame i guess u could say
Sweet! Just added your widget to http://greeninreallife.blogspot.com/
Some very helpful hints indeed, and something of which needs wider publication. Simple issues like don’t get a phone book, I think we are all guilty of that and honestly how often do we really use this – I for one never.
Great idea for a plugin. I will place it on my travel blog for support.
Thank you so much for this great widget! I added it to my blog
I got a going green tip for cars. Use solar powered cars, that can charge in the sun. Since the sun is so harsh theses days it can power the car till next morning and it wont waste battery. E-mail me if u agree or not loaezaxavier@yahoo.com THANKS ^^
Hi, I installed the plugin to wordpress but I don´t know how to change it to spanish. Con somebody help me indcationg to how to switch to spanish?
greening your house with mini elepant grash (rumput gajah mini), create biophore hole to put your food waste inside, return back your plastic pack/carrier when you purchase anything from store, do not buy any product too much becouse all product was take various and plenty energy sources even it is only tootpick.
I hope that the green living happens soon so everybody takes care about his way of living so that we can change and rescue ourselves from climate change.
We:
• have a compost bin in our backyard for all of our fruit/vegetable/yard waste.
• a hamper in our hallway for things we no longer use. Makes it easier when places call for donations.
• have curbside recycling, which makes recycling so much easier
• re-purpose items when we can, reuse school/office supplies (I just re-purposed two box “trays” that came out of a wii box, I believe; they are now drawer organizers!
• find places that can use our stuff! We have an awesome place, Leftovers, Etc. http://leftoversetc.com/center-features/resource-center/ that takes leftover craft items, bric-a-brac stuff and they use it in their classes!!! Wonderful place!!!
I believe that if each of us did a little thing towards green living and taught that to our kids and they would teach neighbors’ kids – pretty soon the whole area would be greener. Am I just dreaming?
It’s a good reminder of what needs to be done, even if only person takes action after looking at it, it’s worth it.
I’ll add this to my site soon enough.
How can I put the version in portuguese of the gadget in my blog?
I get the code above, but is in english and I am not finding nothing explain how to get the translated versions anywhere.
Sorry for my english, is a work in progress
we all want to live in a green world in the future.
Going green is the way to go although it could be a tall order to try convincing others to do so! Going green campaign should also be promoted in other countries like India and China where some environmental laws are flouted! Onur should also take his campaign worldwide more especially in developing economies like countless countries in Africa whereby the word “Green environment” is non-existent!
hello
i’m using this widget on a wordpress website,
the texts are in french because the website’s language is french
how can i force the arabic language
and how can i remove the tips i don’t want and keep the others
To change the language to Arabic;
1- Download the plugin to your computer.
2-Unzip the folder.
3-Delete go-green-tips-fr_FR.mo and go-green-tips-fr_FR.po
4-Rename go-green-tips-AR.mo to go-green-tips-fr_FR.mo
5-Rename go-green-tips-AR.po to go-green-tips-fr_FR.po
To remove some of the tips;
6-Open gogreentips.php with your text editor such as notepad.
7- Find the lines which produce the tips. Look for “case 1:$h = $h1;$t = $t1;$i=$i1;break;”. You will see case 1, case 2 and so on. Each of these are the tips. If you scroll a few lines up you will see the tips themselves. So find the tips you dont want to show and delete the corresponding line.
For example if you dont want to show the tip of “Get a reusable bag” which is “case 15″ delete the line “case 15:$h = $h15;$t = $t15;$i=$i15;break;”
8- Once you are done with the editing save gogreentips.php and close it.
9-Zip the folder
10-Upload it as a plugin via FTP or from wordpress admin panel.
If WordPress says “There is another plugin with the same name” then delete the current plugin from your wordpress and re-install by using the zip folder you just created.

Thank you for this tips. I was wondering if something else could be done. I’d like to have a place where everybody shares their green tips and tricks of everyday life.
Thanks for sharing this, I’ll add that our blog now:) Thanks Onur.

Green living tips is a great idea, wonderful for german websites too.
Go Green.Honourable intention and at least there are more and more private persons realizing the necessity of it. A pity that majority of companies due to higher costs till now are not following this way, except state is forcing them to do it by law.
